Dr. Denise R. Sacks
Dr. Sacks is a native of North Carolina. After graduating from Olympic High School in Charlotte, she attended North Carolina State University. She graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. In 1981 she was accepted into the first class of the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. After graduation in 1985, Dr. Sacks joined a mixed animal practice in Wendell, North Carolina. There she practiced on a wide variety of animal species such as dogs, cats, horses, goats, pigs, rabbits and ferrets. Dr. Sacks then managed a new practice Zebulon Animal Hospital for two years just before the birth of her first child Daniel. In 1989 Dr. Sacks moved with husband Stan to the Greensboro area and opened Oak Ridge Animal Hospital in October of 1989. Dr. Sacks has been past president of the Central Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, an active member of the Guilford County Veterinary Medical Association and is currently a member of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Sacks enjoys small animal practice with a special interest in dermatology, surgery and internal medicine. Dr. Sacks along with daughter Ashley enjoy their two horses and do both trail riding for fun and western pleasure competition at local horse shows.
Dr. Sacks and family also enjoy traveling, camping and gardening. Their family is active in their church and regularly goes on mission trips to other countries.
Dr. Jessica K. Taylor
Dr. Taylor grew up in Georgia, but has called North Carolina home since 1998. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 2000. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Taylor enjoys the opportunities veterinary medicine provides to strengthen the bond between pets and their owners. She has special interests in cardiology, pain and arthritis management, endocrine diseases such as diabetes, and preventative medicine and education. She is a member of the American and North Carolina Veterinary Medical Associations. Dr. Taylor lives with her husband, Bob, black lab, Electra, and two kitties, Theo and Ivy. Dr. Taylor enjoys volunteering in the community, including with Feral Cat Adoption and Placement. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, watching LOST, and scrapbooking.
